A 2001 graduate of Bentley University, Bri enjoyed a decorated four-year career as a member of the Falcons' women's basketball team, earning countless honors, while helping lead Bentley to a 120-15 overall record, three Northeast-10 regular season titles, and three NCAA Elite Eight appearances.
One of only two players to serve as a team captain for three seasons, Bri - just the eighth junior to top the 1,000-point plateau - ranks in Bentley's top-10 in seven statistical categories, finishing first in games played (135), third in assists (573), and tenth in points (1,307).
As a senior she led the Falcons to a 31-3 overall mark, earning Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/Kodak Division II honorable mention All-America accolades, Daktronics Division II All-Northeast Region honors, and NCAA Division II Northeast Regional All-Tournament team recognition.
Coach Kedner Abellard was a standout basketball player at Arlington High School and for the Middlesex Magic. Our “Coach K” has coached many different levels in the last decade on the sidelines. He is a longtime coach in the Middlesex Magic program, leading multiple boys teams to the AAU Nationals at the middle school and high school levels. Coach K has also been an integral part of developing the girls program for Middlesex Magic. In addition to coaching for the Middlesex Magic, Coach Kedner has also helped coach the Bunker Hill Community College Men’s Basketball Team, and was the Assistant Varsity Coach for Framingham High School. Coach K has been a private basketball trainer nearly five years and joined our team in August of 2014. Coach K’s workouts focus on ball handling, shot structure, conditioning and helping to instill confidence in players. Coach Kedner enjoys seeing the progress that each player makes through each of his workouts.
Courtney Finn played high school basketball at Winthrop high school where she was a Northeast Conference League all-star all 4 years, 2008 League MVP, and a two year Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic selection. She is the all-time leading scorer for both men and women with 1747 points, averaging 21pts her senior year.
Finn went on to play college basketball at Bentley University for Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens. Due to a torn ACL in the preseason of her freshman year, she redshirted and came back for a fifth year to pursue her MBA. She was named a 2014 WBCA All-American her graduate season averaging 15.6 points and 7.2 rebounds. The two-time captain helped Bentley capture the NCAA Division 2 National Championship for the first time in school history. She set the school record for most 3-pointers made in a game making 8 of 9 vs. American International College. Finn ended her basketball career at Bentley University with an overall record of 124-11, 1597 career points, and 799 career rebounds.
Paul Connolly is one of the most well renowned coaches in the region and earned the nickname the "Shot Dr." for his tremendous ability to teach proper mechanics of shooting the basketball. Coach Connolly is the head boys basketball coach at Newton North High School, where he has amassed a career record of 251-59 in 13 seasons. Coach Connolly guided the Tigers to back to back State Championships in 2005 and 2006, and nine Bay State Conference championships (2005, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 12, 13, &14). Coach Connolly played at Mass Bay and LaGrange College, and formerly coached at St. Patrick's High School, Norwood High School, LaGrange College, and Emerson College, where he coached current Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager, Sam Presti, and current Orlando Magic General Manager, Rob Hennigan. The Shot Dr. has conducted Shooting Clinics all over the country, including Massachusetts, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Florida, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Georgia, California, Kansas and more. Coach Connolly works for the Newton Public Schools Special Education Department.
